Before you book your skip bin, it’s important to make sure we can safely deliver and collect it from your property.
Our trucks are designed to fit down most Auckland driveways — but there are a few access requirements to keep things smooth and stress-free.
Here’s everything you need to know to get your site ready for delivery.
1. Minimum Access Requirements
To safely deliver your skip bin, we need clear and level access to your property.
Please ensure your driveway or accessway meets the following minimum dimensions:
| Access Requirement | Measurement |
|---|---|
| Minimum Driveway Width | 2.7 metres |
| Minimum Overhead Clearance | 4 metres |
| Truck Length (for turning space) | 6 metres |
Quick Tip:
If your driveway is steep, narrow, or has tight turns, please contact us before booking. We can often work around tricky access — or suggest the best placement option.
2. Surface & Gradient
Our trucks need a solid, stable surface such as concrete, asphalt, or compact gravel.
Please avoid soft ground, lawns, or recently paved areas where the truck or bin could cause damage.
Ideal Surfaces:
-
Concrete driveways
-
Asphalt areas
-
Firm, level gravel
Not Suitable:
-
Soft lawns or gardens
-
Loose stones or sand
-
Steep slopes or uneven surfaces
3. Overhead Clearance
Make sure there’s at least 4 metres of vertical clearance for safe loading and unloading.
Look out for:
-
Low tree branches
-
Power lines
-
Carports, balconies, or garage overhangs
If you’re unsure, send us a photo or video of your driveway — we’ll confirm if it’s suitable before delivery.
4. Placement Options
Our team can help find the best bin placement for your property.
Common placement options:
-
On your driveway
-
On a building site or concrete pad
-
On the roadside (where permitted by Auckland Transport)
If placing your bin on public land or a footpath, you may need a temporary permit. Contact us and we’ll guide you through the process.
5. Pink Bag Alternative for Tight Access
If your property doesn’t meet the access requirements, don’t worry — you can still clear your waste with our Pink Bag rubbish removal service.
Pink Bags are lightweight, flexible, and can be placed almost anywhere — perfect for small driveways or limited access sites.
6. Still Unsure? We Can Help!
If you’re not sure whether your driveway is suitable, our team can help assess it.
Send us photos or measurements, or request a site visit before your delivery.
