When it comes to rubbish removal in Auckland, bigger isn’t always better. Sometimes, all you need is a small, versatile skip bin to help tidy up your space without breaking the bank or taking up your entire driveway. Enter small skip bin hire—the perfect solution for smaller projects, tight spaces, or a quick declutter.
At Pink Bins, we’ve got you covered with a range of skip bin sizes to suit every job, big or small. But if you’re on the hunt for the smallest skip bin we offer, you’re in the right place!
Why You Might Need a Small Skip Bin
You might be surprised by just how handy a small skip bin can be. While it might not hold an entire household’s worth of rubbish, it’s perfect for smaller cleanups that don’t need a bulky bin that takes up valuable space.
Here are a few scenarios where hiring a small skip bin makes total sense:
Garage Clear-Out
Finally getting rid of those old boxes of broken tools, forgotten toys, and worn-out furniture? A small skip bin gives you enough room to clear out the junk without overwhelming your driveway.
Garden Cleanup
After trimming hedges, mowing lawns, and dealing with those pesky branches, you’ll need a spot for all that green waste. Our small skip bins handle garden offcuts like a champ.
DIY Projects
Taking on a small home renovation, like a bathroom remodel or new shelving in the garage? A small skip bin can handle plasterboard, timber, and general building waste.
Decluttering For Summer
With Auckland’s sunny season already here, many of us are sprucing up our homes and outdoor spaces. If you’re doing a bit of a summer declutter, a small skip bin is the perfect companion.
Moving House
Moving always comes with an unexpected mountain of things you no longer need. A small skip bin can take care of those broken items, ancient appliances, and piles of random junk with ease.
The Smallest Skip Bin We Offer
So, just how small can you go when hiring a skip bin? At Pink Bins, the smallest skip bin we provide is a 3m skip bin. Here are the specifics:
Dimensions: 3.3m (L) x 1.5m (W) x 0.6m (H)
Capacity: Equivalent to just over 3 small trailer loads of rubbish
Weight Limit: 400kg
The 3m skip bin is compact, easy to manoeuvre, and doesn’t take up a massive amount of space on your property. Whether you’re working on a small project at home or need a convenient option for a little cleanup, this size is spot-on.
What Can You Put in a Small Skip Bin?
One of the most common questions we get is: What can I throw in the bin? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Small Skip Bin Hire FAQs
We get it—choosing the right skip bin can be a little overwhelming, especially if you’ve never hired one before. To make it easy, here are some of the most frequently asked questions about small skip bin hire in Auckland:
1. How long can I keep my small skip bin?
You can keep your Pink Bin onsite for up to 7 days (although you should definitely check out our summer promo if you do end up needing a much larger skip bin and need longer).
In extreme cases, we might allow an extra 1-2 days, depending on demand at the time.
If you’re short on time or space, you can also check out our Wait and Load service (more on that below!).
2. What if I don’t have enough space for a skip bin?
No worries! If you don’t have room to leave the bin onsite, we offer a Wait and Load service. This means our truck will deliver the skip bin, wait while you load it, and then take it away immediately. You get 30 minutes of loading time, and extended time can be arranged if needed.
3. Will the Pink Bins truck fit down my driveway?
Our Pink Bins trucks require around 2.5 metres of driveway width. The trucks themselves are 6 metres long, 2.3 metres wide, and 2.8 metres high. If you’re unsure about access, let us know, and we’ll arrange a site visit to suss it out.
4. Can green waste be mixed with general rubbish?
Yes! We separate green waste and general rubbish at our Manukau recycling plant. This helps to make sure that as much of your waste as possible is recycled and kept out of Auckland’s landfills.
5. How high can I fill my Pink Bin?
The bin must not be filled above the top of the sides. The doors should also be able to close and shut properly. If the bin is overloaded, we won’t be able to safely remove it—and no one wants that hassle!
